Located between Florence and Sienna, the Relais & Châteaux Il Borro, a 700 hectares wine-growing estate and former property of Amedee de Savoie, seduced the Ferragamo family. The place is surprising and reminds us of real medieval villages with small alleyways. The tin roofed little houses have been restored and transformed in 27 rooms and suites with exposed beams and floor tiles. Some of the antique buildings of the village are home to craft shops, stables and a 300 year old winery. In the bucolic countryside, three villas with private swimming pools are also part of the estate. The family’s spirit is omnipresent and the philosophy of the Il Borro distances itself from the classic hotel business. The amateurs of authenticity will be able to witness the wine making and olive oil making process, enjoy a purely traditional cuisine from Tuscany at the Osteria del Borro, or do some wine tasting at the Bistrot Wine Bar of the village, practice horse ridding, relax at the Spa, laze around the pool or go for day of shopping in Florence.
