The princess Eugenie, Napoleon III’s wife, adored the Relais & Châteaux Villa La Cora, this palace from the 19th century with villa Florentine’s looks, erected in 1868 by the Baron Oppenheim near Florence. The neo-classical style, sometimes also mixed with other styles and the antique furniture, recalls the romantic refinement of the aristocratic people at the time. The estate, close to the historical centre of Florence, is buried under a huge landscaped park where the gardens are home to hundreds of different rose species as well as a huge swimming pool and pretty terraces where one can enjoy a summery lunch “al fresco”.
