Six Senses Douro Valley

With the opening of the Six Senses Douro Valley in Portugal, Six Senses conquered the verdant hills of the Douro Valley, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage site list. Located on an 8 hectares wine estate, this old manor restored in the 19th century is composed of about 60 rooms including its dependencies. The New York agency Clodagh Design managed to push to the side the set of rules usually used for the decoration in the “Six Senses” establishments. The spaces are quite modern and uncluttered and feature neutral tones such as sand and pearl grey. For their first European hotel, Six Senses Douro Valley focused on the art of living by offering the following activities to their guest : tasting of the local delicatessens and cheeses, meetings with the wine makers, introduction to the Porto wine, access to the 2 200 m2 Spa – its personalised programmes and vinotherapy treatments, gourmet cruises on the Douro…
